La Paz is a delightfully relaxed city on the shores of the Sea Of Cortez, in Baja California Sur.  With miles of beautiful bay front and a long malecón (waterfront walkway) for everyone to enjoy, La Paz is a genuinely friendly city that welcomes visitors with open arms.  This is a city that deserves much more attention, from tourists, than it actually receives.  La Paz is a bit different than most beach resorts, it is a real city, not just a lot of glitz and flash for the benefit of tourists.  La Paz is also the capital and cultural center of the state of Baja California Sur.  The very meaning of the name, La Paz, which literally translates to "The Peace", relates almost perfectly to the subdued ambience of this extraordinary city.   La Paz is also a city, that moves at a pace of it's own - meaning rather slowly.  This is the largest city in southern Baja, yet it somehow manages to retain a friendly small town feel.  All About La Paz is continued here.
